Used to be hard to find a park on the GA lines. Cairns airport increased the parking charges so much, that most of the aircraft now park at Mareeba and only come into Cairns to drop off or pick up pax.
I understand the charges for a lease renewal for the Aero Club increased so much that they will not be renewing at the end of the year and most of their training will be at Mareeba.
