These GCAA medicals are becoming more and more like the infamous Chinese Astronaut physicals.
Heaven help you if you tell the doc you have a sore index finger. Next thing you know, you'll be going to referral after referral for: ECG, blood work, brain scan, and the ever beloved sleep study. While a very few docs are good, a significant number are afraid of submitting to the GCAA for fear of it coming back requiring more info. To mitigate this, they simply over-do what is common sense and rational.
And if you get a particular doctor whom we affectionally call the Gnome… just call in sick!!
