The key word is potential. As an airport gets busier of course more trains will stop at the station. Perhaps a station on the ECML?
Some people might choose to get a minute taxi ride from CF station rather than change train at Newcastle and wait for the underground with all their luggage? It's a choice which is not available at present. I could have used Darlington station or Middlesbrough as an example.
