I always like seeing a business make a ballsy move like this, why launch one new route when you can launch 4?
TCX don't operate in Ireland, but my perception of them has always been that when they sell just the seat on the plane and not a full package, they aim for the lower budget segment I.E. if you're looking for a cheap economy or premium economy fare you go to them but if you want to sit up the front you go elsewhere?
Obviously trans Atlantic services are growing massively across Europe, due to a strong dollar making it easier for American tourists to visit, and cheaper fuel allowing older widebodies to serve routes that otherwise might not be viable, but what I'm asking in a very roundabout way is, even with all this growth in demand, will both DL and AA remain on JFK with 6 Kestrels a week to contend with? The A330 is more fuel efficient and larger than the U.S. offerings, allowing cheaper fares.
Would be interested to hear others' thoughts.
