I've spent a fair amount of my Boeing career working various models of the 747, but being an engine guy I didn't even know the 747 had body gear steering until I read this thread.
A little over a week ago I was out at the flight line for some 747-8 testing, so during some down time I decided to check out the gear steering. HOLY COW
, those are some big actuators!
