Funny, I was taught that trim is a secondary control? Maybe I'm misreading your intention?
1/ push rudder as required.
2/ trim out forces.
3/ relax foot.
You don't trim to move the rudder first.......
I guess it's handy to know how much rudder trim you will need but it's a SECONDARY control.
