The big unknown is what happens with the potential IAG takeover of Aer Lingus.
If that goes ahead, the parent company may not be so keen on Aer Lingus being a feeder for KLM services out of Amsterdam.
That could see KLM re-enter the Irish market in its own right, and with that a possible route to Shannon.
There's an awful lot of unknowns, ifs, coulds and possibles in all that though.
