If the airport is hovering between profit and losses all spending will be painful so the question to be asked is does the upgrade of the taxiway represent value for money and will the cost pay an income?
Is a backtrack the end of the world when at busy airports easyjet just queue up and wait probably longer than they would at Southend with its taxiway issue?
