'Cardiff Airport may no longer be on life support, but it?s certainly on benefits... it needs a life plan' - Wales Online

I really don't know if articles (supposedly by a former non-exec director) like this actually help CWL, it's all well and good saying that CWL should follow the NCL model. BUT the comparison between CWL and NCL somehow misses the major point that NCL is the main airport in that area, whereas for the severnside area it's BRS.

Actually I can't help but wonder how much of this article is really the work of a somewhat parochial Sion Barry*. The non-exec director (a former consultant to NCL) would realise NCL is pretty isolated, the closest serious competitor to NCL is LBA, which is about 90 miles away. Whereas CWL has BRS and BHX all within an approx 90 mile radius, with LHR about 120 miles away.

* It's for this reason I've not mentioned the director in question.
