what drugs are you guys on.I hope you are not instructors or LAME's.
If oil pressure or manifold pressure were dropping then you would possibly expect imminent engine failure. Easy for those not in the situation but there is no substitute for experience.
I guess if you block off the intake the MP drops for a bit, but when the engine fails MP usually rises to that of QNH.
Just sayin……….
