you will do 900 on long haul , maybe 6-750 short haul , the first 3-4 years a bit of a grind , but you alway have good leave etc , and then you have a LOT of control over your personal life , days off etc ,

Must admit I'm hearing from my shorthaul colleagues that many are hitting 900 hours a year now.. the "LOT of control" I guess is a subjective thing , but as I'm sure you know Bidline's morphing rapidly and there's a lot less control than there was even this time last year...and more changes are a foot.
That's certainly not a reason not to apply, I'm sure it's still a very attractive deal, especially if you want to live in the South east UK....
