When I did my CPL course we were encouraged to read our instructor's reports.
On one report my (superb) instructor wrote: "...he needs to do his checks less like Eric Morecambe ".
Puzzled I asked my instructor what he meant - he referred me to the Morecambe and Wise / Andre Previn sketch were Eric holds Previn by the lapels and states "I was playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order"
