Arrived at YMMB after this happened, a witness told me that the Warrior seemed to be having engine trouble and looked to be trying to put it down inside the field.
Could have been far worse, apparently the 172 had a short amount of time to try and move out of the way, probably what prevented fatalities.
Hit home for me a bit as i've flown VH-TXH (The MFS Warrior) a few times as I did my PPL-MECIR training at MFS.
