The Dash has a quite tough main gear really. They get to ram runways the world over day after day with little consequence.
However. the design is basically a large beefy trailing drag strut, hinged at the front and bottom of the main leg, The leg is held at te htop by an 'H' shaped brace that is itself held by another brace, that is held in the locked position by geometric locks and a pair of large springs.......
Er. usually, it works fine.
