I personally found the story of test pilots engaged in air-to-air work brilliant. Haven't laughed so much in weeks. Test pilots! In combat training! Fabulous. I thought wind ups were a thing of the past, and they even got it into the press. Well done to all concerned!
Prior to becoming test pilot for the Eurofighter; then the F-16; and now the F-35, Canadian Billie Flynn spent 20 plus years as a CF-18 fighter pilot in the Canadian Air Force. His final flying tour was as Commanding Officer of 441 Tac Ftr Sqn where he lead his squadron into combat during the Kosovo Air Campaign from Aviano.
I think he knows a thing or two about combat training !
