On a commercial point it seems a bit daft for Stobarts to be applying for this subsidy because it tells the competition and customers alike that not even Stobart management have faith in their own airports and in-house carrier.
It's a bit naive to think that a commercial operator won't apply for any subsidies or grants that are going. It's up to the authorities to decide whether it is granted or not.
Am I right in saying that the subsidy is just for the start-up of the route, isn't it....?
