What is your defining criteria for unnecessary? Surely many airports have less than full flights to many destinations off peak and even some at peak. I'm sure the passengers such as myself in the regions would appreciate routes being cancelled just because they aren't 90-100% full. Serving the regions is just as important to the UK economy as serving euro holiday and business routes. Maybe you don't feel the same way?
