Apparently, the crew was in contact with ATC during the decent up to FL60 when contact was lost.
I suspect that whatever unidentified source you are quoting simply means that ATC were in radar contact with the aircraft (which we already know), not that there was continuous voice contact (which we know there wasn't).

If that is the case, as reported by the Germanwings CEO, then the decent must have been in a control manner up to that level before a terrible event happened.
That doesn't follow at all.

Any info about the exchange with ATC??
