I may have been unclear re the refunds situation.
What I was eluding to was in the case of carrier collapse.
There is no information that I have to indicate this is an imminent or likely situation, but just throwing out there that there are procedures in place that can protect the punters money.
I have at the insistence of regular Corporates booked them and others I rank way lower but am not comfortable until the revenue is flown.
My other point is why if a Carrier accepts all major credit cards does the charge from some Agency groups show as from the Agent and not the Carrier? Simple one this. Agent hiding vastly inflated service fees to supplement their pitiful base salary and providing the client with a tricked up pseudo e-ticket.
The main aim was to put out there that there is a way to negate a charge after collapse without having to fight it out with the carrier.
As for double dipping on refunds, you can be sure that once a charge is returned by an Airline they will have sufficient evidence in their accounting trail to produce to the card company to prove the reversal is in error.
