How uncanny, and surreal. I am staying in Crowne Plaza hotel less than a third of a mile away with SWMBO, my sister and her husband and some friends.
At roughly the time of the accident we were outside in the pool area eating pizza and my Brother-in-law asked about the loud noise from the R-44 flying overhead, (he is an airline pilot from the UK), I explained that it was blade slapping and then told him how pilots can avoid it. I even went onto explain that it does the industry no good with pilots going around making noise like that and they should try to avoid making it.
I have no way of judging the exact time, but it was between 2 and 2:30 local, therefore, I am assuming this could the same helicopter.
