flybe dropping good routes!
From OP's FEB passenger stats :
Toulouse 4487 63 81%
Waterford 1425 59 76%
These 2 routes are being dropped at the end of this month . Waterford is gleefully being picked up by another airline but as for TLS I cannot see another airline suitable to fly it at a daily service that is required. Flybe in its various forms has been operating that route on and off for over 20 years so I can't believe that all of a sudden they decide it is not making money. 81% L.F in February for goodness sake for what was traditionally a summer vacation route.
Thinking about this I have come to the conclusion that with the flying time there and back (4 hours) together with the turnaround time , Flybe think that the aircraft could make more money doing a shorter route where it could do maybe 2 and half sectors in that time.
Hopefully they will have YET another change of heart and reinstate it in the near future.
