Cool ¿Wanna be a Peruvian Pilot?

Hi clearedvisual33,

Nice to meet you! I might help you out with those questions you have, but, I'm not a LAN pilot.
Let me introduce myself rapidly, I started flying in Europe a couple of years ago and went to Canada for a commercial licence etc... that's where I met my Peruvian wife and since about 9 months I'm living in Perú's capital, Lima.

Well, let me respond to your questions 1 by 1:

-Does LP hire expats? Yes they do.

-What is the starting salary for a 1st year FO on the A320 or B767? (from what I saw 3500.Soles + benefits) just asked again and it looks like 8000.S/month

-What are the current hiring minimums/criteria for foreigners? First of all you need to be fluent in spanish and be Peruvian/ get married. Once you got you residency/ carnet de extranjeria you'll be able to get you DGAC license from Perú and after that apply... Of course young peruvian people have more chance to get the job than you.

-What is the upgrade time to become CA? Good question! I'll ask my mates from LAN but I think it (as always) depend uppon yourself.

-How many days off per month? What is the work schedule like? I don't remember and I'm confused with some other's companies schedule...sorry
Might be 20-10...

-What is the company's future? It's a stable/good company from what I hear from the pilots.

-Are they hiring now? NO, they had a partnership with a school here in Perú for the future FO's. They had to close it because they were pretty bad and took the best ones to fill up the cockpits. There was some hiring 6 months ago BUT I'm not sure if they where really looking for FO's.

-LP contact info?

That's the link.

I'm here since 9 months and it was pretty hard to get the residency and the license. I'm gonna tell you what the real point is: The DGAC (direccion general de aviacion civil) doesn't want foreigner FO's in Peruvian companies.
It's pretty sad but it's like this.

If you have any other kind of questions you can get in touch with me.

Hasta luego
