My FI certificate expired at the end of last year, and although I'm not currently instructing, I wish to renew it.
I'm trying to understand the relevant wording in CAP804 (Section 4 Part J pg 6 refers):
If the FI certificate has lapsed, the applicant shall, within a period of 12 months before renewal: (1) attend an instructor refresher seminar; (2) pass an assessment of competence with FCL.935
It's the
within a period of 12 months before renewal bit I'm finding confusing given my certificate has already expired! Renewal of what exactly? I take it I just need to (a) attend a seminar, and (2) pass the competence assessment? Do both need to be completed within a stipulated time frame?
