Both of the diverted flights did not even attempt to land, the Liverpool held for a while in pattern over Coleraine and headed for Belfast whereas the London flight arrived and turned back right away over Coleraine.
Strange that at least one flight did not even attempt to land and judge that it was unsafe.
Can an airport close or divert flights simply because the wind exceeds certain levels and is that what happened today?
Or did the ATC person sleep in for work....?
