...just the other day reading ....( the International Herald Tribune ).......has it that the two courier / cargo / freight specialists have teamed up together in a legal dispute against DHL disputing minimum US ownership requirements. The combined 80 % market share of FedEx and UPS leaves ripe pickens for DHL in their quest for domination of the multi billion dollar worldwide priority shipping business.
The boardrooms of FedEx and UPS have realized that a major third player with a global reach attacking the richest quarry in their own back yard will undoubtedly raise the alarm of Wall Street investors to their detriment. Perhaps their attempt at a premption here could influence the decision due in August. I for one will not be suprised if the US Trade Dept, DOT rule in favour of big brown and big blue
It`s time Europe put the perverbial foot down and for a CHANGE force capitalism on the Americans. I`m sure you would not see the present case repeated in North America
