Well done to who, Cardiff Airport for attracting the routes on free market rules or the Welsh Assembly for spending money on air transport that will only benefit a few and subsidise an airline.

While I'm no expert and do not necessarily believe in public money being spent on aviation, is the government being quite clever though? How long in reality will it take to recoup the £3.5m spent on route development? How much will the extra route and footfall add to the value of the airport should it be sold back to the private sector? Surely it can only add value providing the services are well used?
Forgetting the money aspect it's great news for CWL and BE. Hopefully people will use these services and that they will last the test of time.
