I wouldn't take the contract as it is, but try to make a revised contract.
The first question is do you want to pay the typerating yourself or not.
If not, the question is fairly simple, ask for the same contract an have them pay for the rating.
If this is not an option than ask for a bonding contract for 2 years where they withdraw a fixed amount for the typerating a month. if you get a typerating at aprox 18000 for the XLS and they withdraw 750 euro month for the typerating. So now you get 7250 gross a month.
Ask for fixed pay per month based on an average of 15 days a month.
Ask for a 2-3 months notice and stating in the contract that if they break the contract the typerating cost will be on them as they terminate the contract.
As for the legal implications of tax, the best is to start a small LTD. this has some nice tax benefits.
I live in a relative expencive country and even here I get a accountant company to do my taxes (pay salary to myself with taxdeduction, anuall tax review, help with deductable etc) for about 1000 Eur a year, and remember these cost are deductable as well so you probally only pay about 600-700 EUR a year. if you have a LTD you can also deduct your home Internet, home phone, mobile phone, medical, travel insurance etc, so the 600-700 Eur will most probally disapear agains these cost.
I know that getting a fixed job that pays well with a boss that pays all the cost is the preffered way to go (there is even a posting about this on the forum right now called "dreamjob") but sometimes we have to take the jobs we can get.
