Skipness says it right. The attitiude is not Walsh or any individual - it is the colective view of Western Style Capitalism - as currently practised. It used to be different and it will be different in the future but it is what it is.
Hence the long held views of many in these forums that more legacy mergers will happen. The KLM/AF did not achieve the econmies of scale that it should, others will try and do it better, I surmise.
