I realise Willie Walsh isn't at the BA helm these days, but it's his business philosophy that prevails by the look of things. I flew under the BA banner (for a franchise operator) years ago & one was proud to be associated with a quality airline. I just hope that the hard won reputation that BA has built up over the years isn't being gradually sacrificed in the race to maximum profit.
The change to a 380 on the Miami route would certainly be an improvement, as obviously seats, entertainment etc. would be much improved, but there's only so much cheese you can pare off a pizza before it ceases to be a pizza, & that's mainly where the problem lies, I think.
