Only if you see sim checks as a bad thing. Plenty of people look forward to them as a challenge and an opportunity to develop. Remember, Eagle pilots get about the same amount of time in the sim as other airlines, we just do one day at a time (normally) rather than two. It works well and allows people to stay more 'sim' current.
No matter how you do something, you'll always have detractors. It would be nice if they had some reasonable basis for it though!
