There are some pictures going around showing wreckage including parts of an engine and propeller.
From what I can see on the grainy twitter picture, it looks to me like the propeller was not feathered and producing power at the time of impact. Can anyone post an appreciation of the actual weather conditions as they were 54 years ago at the time?
I haven't actually flown a DC-3 but I have stood next to one at an airshow once.
