You would gulp at the running costs of a Spit Nutty..
I was talking to the owner of a Mustang in NZ about the eye-watering cost of flying in warbirds and he said: "I know it's a lot of money, but trust me, we aren't making any money out of you. You are just helping to defray the costs!"
This from someone who had just installed a "part-exchange" Merlin for $250,000.
I'm pretty sure that as an 'air experience flight' you can't touch the controls, so unlikely.
There is no way I would pay for a flight if I wasn't allowed to touch the controls. I've now got Harvard, Spitfire and Vampire time in my logbook.
Plus "a whizz around Auckland Harbour" in the Mustang. No controls, but holding up my video camera during 5g aeros was interesting!
Expensive, but memories to last a lifetime.
PS I've just looked at the prices on the Biggin Hill site and I'll revise my comment about NZ warbird prices. Make that "semi-eye-watering".
