I assume you are talking EASA Part.FCL PPL? Then you have the choice to fulfill requirements or take check ride with a Flight Examiner. If this is done 90 days before expiry date you even keep your old vali date. This is what I did: went to
this school in Germany, took FE checkride and spent the rest of my spare time enjoying instead of running hours. Check before doing wether you need a written permit from your home CAA.
