If you read it, it states " Year-round connections from Shannon to the east-coast will be introduced." All media, politicians and even the airport interperated this as both JFK and BOS, but it was just BOS.
Its easy to see the confusion was deliberate here. It is very clear that Aer Lingus wanted people to think that JFK and BOS were year round for a marketing stunt.
(Also, Ive never heard such whining about a small inflation of 8,000 passengers. Get over it, it doesn't affect anyone!)
