No requirement for six approaches in an IPC.

If you have the required six approaches within the last six months plus the required en-route and holding etc then you can act as PIC under IFR.

If you don't meet the requirements then you can either, with a safety pilot fly until you meet the requirements or complete an IPC with an instructor but there is no requirement for the latter to include six approaches.
