Worth of a B727 type rating today

Kindly guide on this enquiry:

Holding an ATPL with some 2.5k hours mostly turboprop and a jet rating on Emb145 but no experience yet. I wish to upgrade my experience on aircraft weight by doing a B727 type rating contingently if it comes with a job. Will this add value to my job marketability if I already have EFIS and multi crew time so as to be able to apply for non rated modern jet positions later? What would be the minimum flying hours I should consider building on the 727 to make the transition worth while to open further doors for career development? 1000 hours?

Thank you

P.S...I know it is an old jet rating! I know there are very few 727 freight jobs in the market on this type.So no need for thread bashes please.
