It does not need to be a long recommendation letter!
Just write few sentences about yourself... Like someone reliable, not afraid of hard work, bla bla bla... And make your friend sign!
It is just a reference letter from someone who knows you... They can just write sentences in order to describe the person you are.
When are you going to the assessment? 15/01 maybe?
