Well, I guess it is part of the job to deal with this kind of people.... And of course take it as part of your experience on the journey to the left seat, even if it is to learn how things should not be done. Also flown with FOs who do all kinds of calculations during flight, as long as they don't bug me asking to do all those non standard things I see no harm. But yes, I agree that the rule states that those kind of pilots usually are compensating for the lack of flying skills, of course there are exceptions.... The ones that fly seamless and knows all about theory and regulations. Very rare and I'm not included on that group unfortunately.
