I get about 8-10 of these a day on average, there seem to be alot of governments going under at the moment with lots of money they need me to sort out for them!
They are known as 419 Scams and the Met Police have a specific fraud unit set up dealing with them as they are getting very common. They are (usually) Nigerian based scams with the phone/fax number to reply to in Amsterdam. The usual route is that once you reply you invited to a biz meeting over there where suddenly to get your money you have to pay several 'adminstration' fees or bribes to official - your new friends would love to help but dont forget that all their money is impounded at the moment until you have helped them...
Once they think they have as much as they can get out of you they dissappear into the ether with all your cash...
I am sure that someoone on here once posted a link to a guy who decided to wind one of these guys up to the point where he even sussed out a webcam in Amsterdam and got the guy to meet him there......whilst he was sat at home in front of PC laughing his t1ts off at he guy
Anyway would love to type more but unfortunately I have to go claim all this money which I reckon at the moment is running at twice the third world national deficit!!!
