CofE, whoop dee doo. You're clearly a very special cookie. I have no idea whether your hard to believe claims of all these things you've done are true, or just Walt style fantasy, and to be honest I really couldn't care less. I know people who do indeed do that kind of thing and they're a hell of a lot more down to earth and modest than you are. Very ironic that you, of all people, call me arrogant and condescending; do you know what those words mean? I'm the one pointing out that actually, flying in Africa is not out of the reach of all private pilots, but you seem to consider that nobody who isn't you or one of your elite buddies could even consider it.

There are a minority of pilots, of which you seem to be the figurehead, who think that the work they do is of such incredible difficulty and importance that nobody else in the world can even come close. I suppose it inflates your evidently already very high sense of self importance to keep up the pretense.

The question on the table is "can a private pilot self-fly in Africa" and the answer is unquestionably yes. I have done it numerous times and I'm nothing special, many many others have done it numerous times. You don't even need to have "trust fund status" - I certainly don't, and my travel there has all been self supported by the people on board.

Clearly, you have to plan carefully and know what you're getting in to, but countless people fly around the African continent every day in little airplanes and seem to manage it without dying every five minutes.

Are you worried that if people realise that actually, it is possible to fly in Africa, your colossal ego might take a hit?
