If you have never ventured to this magnificent museum I would strongly recommend that you do. Set on a corner of the original Tangmere Airfield it has grown since its early days of the 80's and is now a really superb example of preserving the memory of the Battle of Britain, and of the heroes that flew from there. Set quite close to Chichester it is a must to see. The exhibits are kept in a condition that is a credit to everyone charged with keeping them in pristine condition. A joy to behold. The history it tells is must to see.
About Tangmere | Tangmere Museum
It closes each December and January so that a great mixture of skilled and unskilled volunteers can keep the museum growing and kept up to the high standard they set to make it one of the best aviation museums I have ever seen.
It opens again in February and is well worth a visit.
