I know that Aussies and Kiwis are able to go to Boeing in Seattle, get a 737 type rating, and can tranfer this FAA rating (without hours on type) onto their AU or NZ licence. After all, those folks in Seattle/Renton build and designed this aircraft, so I guess they should also be able to teach you on how it works.

No such joy with the stuck up Europeans though ! Here the wheel has to be reinvented every time by the Eurocrats and the subsequent costs are passed on to the poor citizens...
