What's the deal with the wind turbines?
So, we use the air moving past the aircraft to drive a turbine, which drives a generator, which powers a motor, which drives a propeller which immediately attempts to return the energy we just extracted from the airflow back into it?
And the solar panels?
My parents' roof is covered with solar panels. On a bright, sunny 30+ Degree spring day last week I took a look and they were producing 8 kW or so in total. This concept takes a small fraction of their area, and stacks them on triplane wings so half of them are in shadow. When your total power demand in cruise is 300+ kW, the panels will produce, at best, 1% of your power needs. Awesome.
