The reason all the routes were pulled from shannon was also a row over charges! Knock has this advantage for years, lower debt and lower fees.
1million people within 90mins of knock, thats just a cheap PR scheme, because most of them million people wont use knock. Shannon would probably have a larger catchment area within 90mins anyway.

Your really dressing up knock as larger than shannon, even last year knock has less than half the number of passengers than shannon.

Aer lingus could not hold paris as the DAA gave them slots only for 4pm to minimize the effect on Dublin and Cork, so the service was a failure as it could not cater for business passengers.

Now your last statement was a COMPLETE and utter contradiction to the rest of your post. Bristol was dropped as a dispuit of charges, just like the cork routes are being moved to shannon. Do you really expects any route to do better at knock than at Shannon?

Ryanair will operate 11 routes from knock next summer, and operate 5 at the moment.

Shannon has the passenger potential for year round routes, and Paris will probably stay for a long time. Ryanair got a deal, but they have got simular deals all year.

It is all about numbers, because yield will be very similar for all UK routes from all irish airports.

Sorry for any hostility above, but your arguments are not very valid.
