VF, love your photgraphs.
The other night I was looking at some photographs I took of VNLK in the early 1970's when it was a doosie of a dirt airstrip originally packed down by foot and with few buildings around it. The transformation is "awesome" but having trekked through that country how did they get the bitumen in? Lots of porters (on foot) me thinks but do you know if they had machinery to lay the surface.
Seeing your picture of the "bird" at Kalaphatar, EBC and above sort of makes you realise how quickly things have changed up the valleys. When we were there it was mainly Chinese reconisance aircraft flying over some of the valleys/border.
Keep the pictures coming.
