Im not sure , been out of Australia a long time now but retain an interest and see history repeating itself . Qantas will say they have no control over who gets interviews but I've also seen them organize jobs in companies they don't own with 1 phone call .
Can't see any change until the industry is more organized . Union guys a right in that there only as strong as the members and Qantas seem to hold all the cards at the moment .
There is work overseas , best thing I did and nice to have safety net of leave with out pay .
If the stars line up and you get into a job in the group that suits you then well done if not then don't let them get you down , I deadend the pain working for them trying to make it work and got out when I could not take it anymore .
