This ladies and gentleman is why the group will never agree to a scope agreement common across the planet. Like Qantas mainline life will get miserable for Qlink pilots, the only thing that will save them is the fact that they cannot sack them because of the FWA until Mr Abbott changes the law. Plenty of Mainline pilots are either on LWOP or are getting demoted for the lack of a scope agreement. Don't think the Jetstar pilots are exempt because they are next. The company will continue to create alter-ego companies to divide and conquer the pilot group in the Qantas group. Air New Zealand pilots took the company to task and threatened to shut the airline down in 7 days and in 4 the company blinked and now they have a career wherever the company wants to operate. ALL US airlines have one and most of the majors across the planet. No matter how much it costs the company in lost revenue and AOC costs they will continue to do this unless forced to do otherwise. American Airlines just created a common seniority list between the American Eagle and American for no other reason other than the fact they were desperately short of pilots in the main airline(Chapter 11 helped with 25% reduction in salaries and pensions decimated). Stop thinking of yourselves and start looking long-term. One pilot union would help.
