I don't thank any one organisation is to blame for Prestwick's predicament. I personally think it is more down the the reality of the market and that is central Scotland does not need three commercial passenger airports.
What the Scottish Government have done wrongly though is signed off the airports fortunes and kept it away from the public. The Scottish Government are now, I believe, moving forward with their strategy of a gradual shut-down, this strategy adopted by the masters in the East will help minimise the negative headlines. Slowly and quietly and nobody will notice seems to be the goal here. Prestwick is now a damage limitation exercise for the SNP, for their own benefit ofcourse. Not Prestwick's.
