The devil is in the detail. This ruling only applies to those who are contractually obliged to work overtime. That was clearly stated in all the news outlets. Those who get ad hoc overtime will not be eligible. Secondly the employers have leave to appeal. So no this is not an area for BALPA to negotiate because it does not apply to flight crew.
