You're right, no procedure, no requirement. But is it wrong to watch the switch?
Agreed. I don't care if people want to do it. What I don't like is being shot a glance like I'm mentally backward for
not doing it. As far as I am concerned, the important part of the procedure is going on on the overhead panel, the actual switch positions and indications. The synoptic, interesting as it may be, isn't telling you much of use, unless you can put me right on that? Some people have tried to tell me that you could have a flameout because you have to make sure the wing tank pumps are running before switching the second pump off...
